29 January 2024: The world’s biggest cruise ship has now set sail from Miami, Florida, beginning her maiden cruise season.
It’s almost impossible to compare the world’s most famous ship, the 1912 Titanic, (famous for all the wrong reasons) with today’s biggest ever cruise ship: Royal Caribbean’s ‘Icon of the seas’. However, I like to try the impossible.
Titanic is of course an Ocean Liner. Icon is a floating resort. 110 years of maritime history separate them both, plus the fact that icon is almost five times bigger and can carry three times as many passengers than Titanic could, all in more luxury.
