Titanic Pub, Romford

The Eve Hart, in Chadwell Heath, Essex is a pub named after the Titanic survivor. It was a former Police station. In fact you can still see the word “Police” engraved on to the building, if you look.

In 1912, Eva boarded the Titanic with her mother and father, she was just seven yeas old. Tragically only Eva and her mother survived the tragedy.

Eva lived just across the road  from the pub (in Japan Road), for the latter part of her life. Eva passed away in 1996, at the age of 91.

I’ve raised a glass to her on a few occasions, in the pub.
