2024: Cunard’s Queen Mary 2 is now in her second decade of operation. However, she is still the only modern Ocean liner, that has been specifically build for the Transatlantic run between Southampton and New York (until the Titanic II enters service).
So much was written about the Queen Mary 2, even before her first keel plates were laid in France and since her maiden voyage in January 2004. In fact never had a ship in modern times, generated so much excitement and expectation. This must be a testament to both her design and modern methods of global communications/marketing. Cunard certainly had a lot to live up to with this vessel.
I am lucky enough to have undertaken both a ‘cruise’ and a ‘crossing’ on this amazing vessel…
